Walking Tour from Mirabell Garden to the Old Town
Start the tour by visiting the Mirabell Garden. Look at colourful flowers, beautiful fountains and visit the dwarf garden. You will understand why this garden is still used for many movie shots and foto shootings. Close to the garden is already Mozart Residence Museum. This world-famous musician lived in 2 apartments before he decided to move to Vienna.
Enjoy a short walk to the famous sights of the Old Town before meeting your driver to contiue to the Lake District.
Visit the Salzburg Dom, St. Peters District, the Festival District and the Farmers Market. This easy walk will get you a great overview of the city and its history.
Old Town - Schloss Leopoldskron
The tour continues in a comfortable car over the state bridge along the river Salzach to Schloss Leopoldskron. Passing Mozart's Birthplace, the Salzburg Festival Hall and the horse wash you will discover a beautiful 18th-century palace on a little lake. It reminds you immediately of the movie Sound of Music. Schloss Leopoldskron has a long interesting history and serves now as a luxurious Hotel in a peaceful area of Salzburg.
Nonnberg Abbey and Schloss Hellbrunn
On the way to Nonnberg Abbey, you will have a great view of the 900-year-old fortress Hohensalzburg. Right below the fortress crowns the female convent Nonnberg Abbey - still active as a convent, still impressive for the art and history it unfolds.
Fuschlsee to St. Gilgen
Then drive in a comfortable Limousine along a very picturesque country road to the famous Salzkammergut region. On the drive, we will pass Fuschl and castle Fuschl, always worth a shortstop. Next will be a village St. Gilgen, the former home of Mozart’s mother and sister. Walk through an authentic little village near the most picturesque lake Wolfgangsee.
Wolfgangsee and Mondsee
On the drive back to Salzburg drive through in the beautiful village of Mondsee. It is known for the wedding church of Sound of Music, colourful houses and the lake Mondsee.
