The tour takes you through the heart of the historic center, starting from smaller local streets before reaching Piazza Maggiore, the city’s main square and the center of Bologna’s civic and social life for centuries. Surrounded by historic palaces and the Basilica of San Petronio, it offers a clear introduction to the city’s identity, architecture, and atmosphere.

You’ll continue toward the Archiginnasio, the historic seat of the ancient University of Bologna, considered the oldest university in the Western world. This area reflects the academic spirit that still shapes the city today, with its porticoes, courtyards, and student atmosphere. Along the route, you’ll also explore the Jewish Ghetto, quieter historic streets, and Piazza Santo Stefano, one of Bologna’s most characteristic squares, known for the complex of the “Seven Churches” and its unique medieval atmosphere.

The experience also includes a stop in Giardini Margherita, Bologna’s most popular public park, where locals spend their free time away from the busy center. This part of the tour offers a different perspective on the city, more relaxed and connected to daily life.
